Dog seizures please help me?
Yesterday my dog had 3 seizures. He stiffened his legs and dropped to the ground. He then started running on the floor and foam came from his mouth. He also urinated all over himself. After he woke up he was very disoriented but after about 30 minutes he made a full recovery and was able to eat and relax. I looked at his poop and it seemed normal. The vet did a blood test and didn't find anything wrong. So I know it couldn't be a tumor since it would probably show in the blood. Can anyone tell me what would cause seizures in a Boxer dog?

My dog recently started having seizures. So my doctor put him on phenobarbital. He thinks it might be a brain tumor, but he can't tell without a mri. A mri is a bit over 1700. I can't afford it. Someone told me this would help him, even if he doesn't have cancer. Is my dog having seizures?
Hey guys, I have a 10 year old Shih-Tzu and he's been having a lot of health problems. His name is Buddy. He's cover in what the vets say are just benign, fatty cysts. Some of them feel like tumors, but *apparently* they're not. Anyway, his main problem is his breathing. Sometimes he'll just stop and he'll be gasping for air. We open his mouth, push his tongue down and massage his throat, but recently, that's not helping all that much. He almost died two days ago. Now, this morning I came downstairs and let all my dogs (3 Shih-Tzus all together) out of their room. Buddy is always a bit of a grump in the morning, so I grabbed his harness and gave him a little help getting out of bed and into the kitchen. The other two boys came to the door, but Buddy stopped on a rug and just looked into the living room. I was calling his name (he's going deaf) and telling him to come on, but he just kept staring there. It only lasted about 10-15 seconds until he finally looked at me with perky ears when I called his name again. I went back over and grabbed his harness again and encouraged him to come outside. I told my mom about this and she said she thought he might be having seizures. I thought, well yeah, that would explain it. And just now (this is about 7 hours later) I had him out on his leash so he could enjoy the weather, bark, do whatever and he'd been out for a while so I went back out, asked him if he wanted to come in and he looked away as if to say "Nope, I'm fine out here." So I went out to pet him and tell him he's a good boy etc etc and I noticed there were a few droplets on the sidewalk under him and saw him drooling. He doesn't usually just drool like that and he wasn't even panting (it's not hot outside) so I looked up symptoms of dog seizures and it said drooling was a symptom. Your opinions? --- After a few answers Thanks guys! 1st of all, they're not inverted sneezes. Maybe they could start as inverted sneezes, but my other dogs have those and their tongues don't turn purple and last 15 minutes! 2nd- Buddy just saw a vet two days ago for his breathing problem. The idea about the seizures came up today and as I was typing the question, the vet actually left a message on the phone giving us options to do something at another veterinary hospital. When my mom calls back, I'll have her ask him about that too!
