How To Train My Dog - Dog Issues That New Pet Owners Should Consider

Are you wondering how to train your dog? Are you considering adopting a new dog in your house?

Well, if you are planning to get a new dog for your family, there are some issues that you should seriously consider.

First and foremost, you must understand that keeping a dog means a lot of added responsibility. Sure, we all agree how cute that Golden Retriever puppy is. And so is that German Shepherd puppy. In fact, probably all the puppies out there are really cute.

Because of that, you really want to adopt one. But getting a puppy means you are responsible for training it. Without the proper training, your puppy can grow up into an adult dog that ends up wrecking havoc in your house. You must be prepared to face these problems when if you want to be a dog owner.

Some common problems that dog owners will probably face with their dogs are barking, whining, digging, jumping, aggression, chewing and many more. Depending on the breed of your dog, the problems that you have to deal with will probably be very different.

For example, for small dog, it is probably not such a big problem if they are jumping on you. But for huge dog like Great Dane, jumping is certainly a big problem and can potentially result in injuries. Of course, I am not saying that it is alright for small dogs to jump. If your small dog keeps on jumping on your guests, you will still want to correct the behavior even if it doesn't result in any injuries. It will still irritate your guests and embarrass you.

Of course, there are many other issues that you may need to consider if you are going to be a dog owner. One of them is obviously children. If you have children in your house, you will certainly want to choose a breed of dog that is gentle and patient with children.

Dog issues here please help?
so i have a 3 year old golden retriever who is the most loyal and trustworthy companian you'll ever find and i left him at my family's to petsit while im out of the state this week. however, hes been there for about 12 hours and won't go potty! when he was a puppy he did that too but it was for only a day and he went right when he got home. at the family's, they live in the city. theres no grass, not even in the parks! my dog is acustomed to a green environment. so im kinda worried now! also they have him in the gargae as his living space since they are kinda neat freaks and he sheds. so if he went in there would that ruin his house breaking? would he pee in the house that is his living space when he gets back here? thanks! @PRINTS....no they can't take him in a cage cuz they don't want fur anywhere. also i asked all of my friends if they can watch him like during spring break but everyone is out of town already. they have walked him 10 times (not exaggerating) today! they only lock him in the garage at night cuz the area is known to theft and i don't want to take a chance with my baby getting snatched

Bf/dog issue need help please!?
So, I've been dating this guy for 8 months now and I truly do love him and he loves me in return.. however, there is a HUGE problem for me and I can't seem to get over it... He dated this other girl from when he was 18-21.. he is now 24. He got a dog a year ago, before I met him and named her his ex gf's name. We live together, so I'm constantly calling out his ex gf's name and it drives me insane. it causes a lot of arguments and in a way i think it's a little silly for me to get mad because it was before he met me.. but then again, I still wonder why on earth he would name his dog after her if he wasn't still hung up on her... He swears he isn't in love with her and that the dogs name is simply a name... now, my question is... should I be upset? should I demand a name change?

Dog Owners: Would you kill or injure a dog if if was your vital resort during a dog attack?
An acquaintance of mine yesterday who is a avid dog owner brought up the issue of dog cruelty. In agreement we both agreed we would never abuse an animal. However I said to him that in a situation were a unprovoked dog attacked me/family member/friend viciously and my VITAL/LAST (have to cap lock for the pet fundies) resort to stop the attack would be to injure or kill. I would do it in a heartbeat regardless if it was a stray or a domesticated and owned pet. I like animals however I REFUSE to stand there for the sake of animal empathy and get killed by a dog or disfigured if I can stop it, my life comes first and like ALL mammals including humans it does not matter how sweet someone claims there dog temperament to be the capacity to get angry and attack remains inherent. He called me a wicked bitch and gave me silent treatment for the rest of the lecture (didn't care). I have had dogs in my extended family, have enjoyed them and have been exposed to others as well. I have never been attacked thankfully, but I've witnessed two 'well trained dogs' flip out unprovoked in my suburb simply because of temperament. In these scenarios it was these Jack n' Jill couples who would act like $3000 worth of dog training school should not have failed and finally owned up to what there animals did with excuses and alternative theories. (Jackass; you own a dog, that has two sets of carnivorous teeth that consists of mainly incisors and blunt Canines anything is possible) Discuss. PS: This is part 1 of my series of dog issues, soon to be posted and followed tonight with this issue maybe you can help me dog owners: "Can Dog Owner and dog be both attracted to the same woman?(Serious lol) to be posted immediately jump on 'My questions' I need some help with this sh*t.

dog issue grass vomiting and such?
he sometimes gets the urge to eat grass and he vomits and gets better. Tonight he can't stop eating grass vomited already doesn't seem to wanna sleep, so i thought he would be good if we went for a walk, he walked as usual, and was panting, didn't drink any water, it had rained so i let him back outside for more grass, since in had water on it, he is very alert, but he has a few mosquito bites on his back legs near his genitals, i am worried that something is wrong, however he goes thru these bouts a few times during the summer, he also is a very picky eater, can't find any dry food he likes, and he is starting to get picky on the moist food that he has been on for at least 9 months, i am maybe just paranoid, but he is my only friend. my ex wife had him on a homemade diet before she left last year he seemed to like it, but i am no good at cooking stew type things like that he has only been like this for about 6 hours now, and after he had the wet grass after the walk he stopped panting.
