Is it normal for dog diarrhea to persist a little/treatment?
I asked here recently for advice on how to help treat it, and I ended up taking him to the vet. My vet put him on a couple meds to handle bacteria/protozoa etc... and another one which I forget. He suggested cooking white rice and giving him it as a meal with a little bit of bland food, or even roughly 50/50 rice and his kibble. Now, my question comes from this; two days ago, he had been fasting for about almost a day, and had no diarrhea or any stool, as his body was cleaned out. Yesterday, he had a bit of solid, and some liquidish stool. Just now, late night/early morning, he had a "typical" diarrhea bout while on a short walk a couple houses down and back home. I hear dog diarrhea can be difficult, because it can persist for anywhere from a couple days, to a week or so. Anything I can do in the way of home remedies to help him get back to normal?

dog diarrhea, how do i stop it?
I rescued a dog on saturday. Long story short she came to me and didn't have any vaccination and looked like she had been badly treat. I took her to the vets yesterday as she is very quiet and had sickness and diarrhea. The vet checked her over and said everything was ok and we started her on her injections. Problem is, she still has diarrhea, The vet said it was due to a change in diet (the lady gave me nothing to bring her home with so i just got her some plain dry food as this is what the lady told me she was eating) but its not clearing up. The vet told me to give her puppy food as this would fatten her up (shes under weight also) but i don't know if this is making her bad stomach worse. Any help would be great.

did puppy milk gave my dog diarrhoea?
My 11 week old puppy suffered with diarrhoea for awhile so I fed him on chicken and rice. The vet told me to introduce his food slowly which i did. His poop became sloppier but NOT runny so the chicken and rice was cut out completely this morning. His poop this morning and afternoon was ok. I gave him some puppy milk as a treat and now hes had watery diarrhoea twice in the past 2 hours since giving it to him. Im guessing his tummy doesnt like the puppy milk? I wont give it him again but he is due his dinner soon, should I give it him? I have no chicken and rice in the house and cant get any until tomorrow. My vets isnt open until monday. The dog nutritionist I saw when my puppy was 8 weeks old told me to give him puppy milk (it is from 0-18months). He had it but had diarrhoea so I stopped it until today..so he hasnt had it for 3 weeks.. hes just had chicken and rice with his normal puppy kibble which is hypo allergenic. The vet that i saw last friday (a week ago yesterday) told me to cut out the chicken and rice over a week, which i have done and he has been fine up until he had this milk.

Dog Diarrhea? Help Please!?
I need your dog owner advice about my dog Brody who is a 2 year old Miniature Australian Shepard, weighing around 40 pounds: Yesterday Brody got diarrhea on the carpet, and I he does that sometimes when he tries to hold in his poop for too long, so I decided to watch him. Today when we got home, he had pooped in 2 places before we got home and he has thrown up since then, and he just had it for a third time and I took him out and he tried to go poop but he yelped out in pain (so I'm assuming he's trying but there isn't anything and it's hurting him). Obviously something is wrong, and I'm going to take him to the Vet when they are open, but I need to know if there is anything I can do in between now and then, and also if it sounds like anything major! He is not fat. He has a lot of muscle, and is dense. He's on the larger end of the mini aussies. They range from 25-45 pounds. Regular Aussies are 60+ I don't keep raisins or grapes in the house really. My friend did bring irish soda bread over last friday, but I doubt it would take one full week to show symptoms if he had gotten into a dropping. I also have another dog, and she is perfectly fine.
