Delayed Food Allergies
6 Most Common Food Allergies - Are You Avoiding These Foods?
Food allergies are slowly beginning to get the recognition they deserve as being a big contributing factor to many chronic health symptoms. But few actually understand how involved these food allergies really are. While most people on lookout for the most common food allergies that produce an oftentimes life threatening reactions, there is a whole other world of food allergies that attack much slower and can do a large amount of damage over longer periods of time. And while the fast acting and severe food allergy reactions are easily identified, the slower and oftentimes Delayed Food Allergies are much more difficult to pinpoint. Immediate Food Allergies vs. Delayed Food Allergies Immediate allergies are those reactions that are typically associated with a severe anaphylactic reaction from IgE immune antibodies. These are the reactions your doctor typically tests for using a skin-prick test while observing any reactions you develop within 15 to 30 minutes following the test. While these IgE allergies are important to know and understand, they only affect between 2% to 4% of the population. The vast majority and most common food allergies are oftentimes less severe Delayed Food Allergies. These types of food allergies are a result of many different immune reactions including IgG and IgM antibodies as well as other immune complexes such as Hatpens, Lectins, and Amines. These immune reactions can appear anywhere between 30 minutes to 72 hours after a food has been ingested. But more importantly, these delayed reactions affect more than 15% to 25% of the population. These delayed food allergies are most often associated with less severe but often puzzling symptoms such as seasonal allergies, ADD, ADHD, asthma, eczema, GERD, IBS, Fibromyalgia, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease, and migraines, and just to name a few. 6 Most Common Food Allergies 1. Wheat Wheat and Wheat Gluten top the list as one of the most common food allergies. It continues to be an extremely problematic food for many people. In fact, some studies have shown that gluten is a problem for more than 50% of the population. But the majority of these people don't even know it. 2. Dairy Dairy is another one of the most common food allergies. While most people are aware of lactose intolerance, less are aware of the high incidence of milk protein allergies to one or both, casein or whey. 3. Soy Soy protein allergy is another one that is often associated with an underlying wheat allergy. Studies continue to show that there is little to no benefit to soy. In fact there are many qualities of soy that can lead to health issues. 4. Egg Egg allergy typically affects children more often than adults but is still one of the most common food allergies found. More often than not, this allergy is related more with the protein found in the egg white as opposed to the egg yolk itself. 5. Nuts Although unrelated both peanuts (legume) and tree nuts are problematic foods. Peanut allergies are typically much more severe and related to IgE immune reactions. 6. Corn Corn is one of the most common food allergies that is rising rapidly. This particular issue is more associated with the fact that corn is found in almost everything you eat. This is because it is a cheap filler used in almost every processed food (including McDonald's Milkshakes). Even the meat you eat is primarily corn since corn has become the feed of choice for fattening cattle, chickens, and other animals. What To Do About Food Allergies? The answer to this question really depends on the source of the food allergy itself. For those reactions that are truly genetic then avoidance is the best way to deal with them. But many of these most common food allergies are the result of or worsened by leaky gut. So healing the gut should be a definite priority. Rotation diets for food allergies can be another very effective way to reduce or eliminate food allergies and are becoming much more common these days. But regardless, when immune reactions occur due to food allergies, inflammation occurs which results in damage to both the gut lining and commonly in other areas of the body. This is one of the main mechanisms that perpetuates the leaky gut process. This is why the Leaky Gut Cure is designed specifically to determine whether or not you suffer from any of these most common food allergies as well as any other foods while effectively reducing or eliminating your immune reactions to them.Leaky Gut CureNaturally and Permanently Stop Your Chronic Symptomsat the Source.http://bit.ly/d4EwVc
Food allergies, is there a list of what foods cause what symptoms more often?
I have a delayed food allergy, very hard to pin down what things, I know everyone is different, but a list of say "this food or pesticide has often caused this symptom" would be really helpfull.
Mine are lip itching, severe headache and hot localized welt/hive/bumps only on my face....if this sounds simular, I would like to know.

Is there such thing as a delayed food allergy or food sensitivity?
I was reading about a test ELISA/ACT (Lymphocyte Response Assay) which tests for 400 common food allergies. They are hidden, in that there symptoms are delayed (1-5 days) and manifest in symptoms other than hives, asthma etc.
This link better explain the test compared to the RAST. I am very interested in your professional opinion because it was suggest that I take this test, which is extremely expensive and not covered by insurance. Then I read elsewhere that is bogus. So what do you think?

WORLD Allergy Day is Not a Day of Celebration...But rather a Declaration of WAR !?
For Years? and even Today, ALLERGIES have been swept under the Medical Care RUG and regarded as a Trivial Nuisance to be Tolerated.
However, Today?s Parent cannot open a Newspaper or turn on the TV without seeing / hearing about ALLERGIES and ASTHMA.
Dr. Bock?s Book: Healing the New Childhood Epidemics: Autism, ADHD, Asthma & Allergies speaks DIRECTLY to the common Thread that Chemical, FOOD and Environmental InHalant ALLERGIES play in Today?s Childhood Epidemic Diseases.
As a Parent, Family History of ALLERGY is the Greatest Risk Factor in predicting ALLERGY Disease Presence.
It is Important to know that ALLERGY is a Cumulative, Progressive Chronic Disease.
Typically, beginning with FOOD Allergies in early Childhood and migrating to Environmental InHalant ALLERGY, UnTreated Mild to Severe ALLERGY continues / Exacerbates .. Leading to unabated Disease Progression and a LifeTime, Slippery Slope of further recalcitrant Diseases and Health Complications.
Further, beyond the numerous Physical Ailments / Diseases as a result of Allergy, More and more EveryDay? Medical Professionals are crystallizing the causal effects of a Compromised Immune & GastroIntestinal System as a result of Environmental and FOOD Allergy with various Emotional and Behavioral Issues ( Book: BRAIN Allergies / Dr. William Philpott ).
Today?s ALLERGY = Tomorrow?s Allergic ASTHMA.
Today is WORLD Allergy Day ?.
But rather than being a DAY of Celebration ..
It is a Declaration of WAR Against ALLERGY
and all the recalcitrant Diseases and Health Complications that result due to its NonTreatment.
ALLERGIES Insidiously Compromise Health and EVERY Aspect of Personal, Family, Social, Academic, Exercise & Professional Quality of LIFE !
BUT? You, or your Loved one are Not Helpless !
It is Important to know, that via your Physician and a Single Blood Test,
You can be Tested for BOTH Sides of the Allergy COIN:
<<>> Both Immediate and Delayed FOOD Allergy
<<>> Environmental InHalants i.e Pet, Mites, Dust, Grass, Tree, Weed, Insect etc.
Further, once your Offending FOOD and InHalent Allergens are Identified via your Blood Test?
They can be Treated / Neutralized ?
Putting an END to the Allergy March which has ruined so many Peoples Lives.
Take a moment to READ what WORLD Health Experts say about ALLERGIES and How they can be Neutralized.
WORLD ALLERGY DAY TODAY
December 2007 -- World Allergy Day 2007, which is organized by World Allergy Organization in association with the Global Alliance Against Chronic Respiratory Diseases (GARD) program of WHO, and focuses on Chronic Allergic Respiratory Diseases.
World Allergy Day 2007 has the following objectives:
- Increase awareness of chronic allergic respiratory diseases
- Increase awareness of the profile of important local allergens, their prevalence throughout the year, and how climate changes are impacting the natural history of allergens
- Educate physicians, patients and the public about the role of persistent allergen exposure in initiating and sustaining chronic allergic respiratory diseases and their co-morbidities
- Highlight the Importance of Identifying, Treating and Controlling these Diseases
The objective of World Allergy Day is to educate healthcare professionals and patients about the link between rhinitis (more commonly known as 'hay fever') and Asthma and the 'allergic march.'
It is well known that a person suffering from one allergy has an increased risk of developing more allergies and Asthma - an occurrence dubbed the "Allergic March". The allergic march describes the progression in clinical manifestations of an allergy, in this case the progression from Rhinoconjunctivitis into Asthma.
ÜDue to the risk of the 'Allergic March', the ARIA guidelines recommend that ImmunoTherapy should be initiated early in the disease process to prevent the further development of severe disease (AIRA guidelines 2001).
Currently there exist three ways of treating allergy: Avoidance, symptomatic medications and ImmunoTherapy. The strategy of allergy avoidance is difficult for an airborne allergen such as grass pollen, and while symptomatic medications (e.g. antihistamines and local steroids) may offer a short-term symptomatic relief, they do not treat the underlying cause of the disease and hence are not an optimal long-term solution.
ÜOnly ImmunoTherapy targets the underlying Allergic Disease, having the potential to produce long-term remission. Several controlled clinical studies have also demonstrated the added benefits of ImmunoTherapy in treating Asthma symptoms in patients suffering from allergic Asthma, and in preventing the development of new Allergies and Asthma(i).

Has anyone diagnosed with fibromyalgia had the virus tests and delayed food allergy test done?
I recently contacted a lady who said she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and she went to Dr. Dan C. Dantini. He ran a test for each of the viruses and it turned out she had a few of the viruses and some delayed food allergies. He prescribed her some anti-viral meds and had her take the foods that were triggering it and she feels so much better. Her pain is almost completely gone and she has so much more energy now. The doctor said if it relapses she would take another round of the meds.I want to get all those tests run too so I can find out if I have a virus and delayed food allergy. Maybe I can get better once and for all. Please keep me in your prayers that I would recover from this illness and get back to a normal healthy life not on a bunch of strong meds I'm taking and just exsiting.

I don't need to be told that is just because I'm a teenager. It's NOT normal. I have a sister, and many friends who i go to talk to, and none of them feel anywhere close to how i feel.
